We are deeply saddened by the passing of Chairman Bill Archer, a distinguished public servant and the visionary founder of the Archer Center.
Congressman Archer’s extraordinary leadership — from his service in Texas state and local government to his three decades in the U.S. House of Representatives, including his tenure as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee — and his steadfast commitment to expanding opportunities for students in Washington, D.C., earned him respect on both sides of the aisle and established a legacy of service, integrity, and statesmanship.
In honor of Congressman Archer’s life and legacy, memorial gifts may be made to support the Archer Center and its mission of preparing the next generation of public service leaders.
Gifts made on this page will support a 25th anniversary endowment for the Archer Center.
